Do you have trouble finding green news and information? Look no further. Rolling Stones’ Chuck Leavell has teamed up with advertising and public relations executive Joel Babbit to create mnn.com (Mother Nature Network), an environmental news website.
Fortune reported Babbit came up with the idea when he realized there was a gap in environmental news on the Internet. There was a lot of information out there on specific topics but nothing that was comprehensive and covered a breadth of topics. Babbit knew Leavell not only as a rock legend but as an active environmentalist so Babbit pitched him the idea and the rest is history.
Within 48 hours of deciding to make the idea of mnn.com a reality, Babbit and Leavell raised over $10 million from investors. In addtion, they already have commitments from advertisers like AT&T, Dell, and MillerCoors. Although this is a young website, it already looks like it will be a success as it was profitable going into the launch.
So if you want to stay on top of the latest environmental news, bookmark mnn.com.
