JavaScript Engineer

Makibie is seeking versatile JavaScript engineers with strong frontend engineering skills (Raw javascript scripting, css and semantic markup) and solid CS fundamentals who are driven to develop high-quality web applications.

What you'll be doing:

  • You design and develop the user interface in close collaboration with user interaction designers.
  • You participate in spreading knowledge in the team by educating your peers.
  • You contribute to the design of the overall system architecture.
  • You integrate different Javascript frameworks and adapt them to the system architecture.
  • You evaluate new frameworks and suggest use cases for them.

You'll need:

  • Have a passion for JavaScript and experience using it in a variety of projects.
  • To be familiar with Agile / Scrum development methodology or at least not married to old corporate, non fun creative killing process that only makes your head hurt.
  • Ability to work in areas outside of their usual comfort zone and get things done quickly
  • Knowledgeable about recent technologies in the whole HTML5 stack
  • You have outstanding knowledge about Javascript frameworks (e.g. jQuery, backbone.js, YUI)
  • You have developed three or more single page Javascript applications
  • You have extensive experience with RESTful services
  • Expert knowledge of modern CSS (CSS3) practices
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices for version control, deployment, security, monitoring
  • You have the ability to bugfix open source frameworks and contribute back to the community
  • You are intrinsically curious about developments in the industry

Senior Interactive Designer

We are looking for an individual who lives and breathes interaction. We need a design expert who has grown tired of static web design and has moved fearlessly into the interactive universe!

The Senior Interactive Designer will be responsible for leading the user interaction/experience for our customers and our family of web products. In this role you will work with a team of designers, developers, project managers, and QA professionals to define and implement exciting and dynamic sites based on the latest technologies. This position requires hands-on development of creative design, wireframing, information architecture, and some front-end coding. You should know what technologies to use for specific situations, but also when not to force it.

We are a fast-based, dynamic company that relies on the talent and creativity of our team members to stay on the web's bleeding edge. We want a person who is passionate about creating engaging user experiences for our customers and has a good read on what's coming next.

We need someone:

  • Who is smart and creative

  • Who has a BA/BS in a related field (design, computer graphics, information architecture, etc.) or equivalent experience

  • With an ability to organize and deliver multiple design elements of complex, large-scope web projects
  • Who has a solid command of UI, UX ,and IA for all aspects of online architecture
  • With proven ownership of a full user interaction design project

Makibie is looking for experienced eBusiness Analysts to work on a dynamic, team developing world-class enterprise applications. Based in Merrimack, NH, Makibie is an innovation company specializing in Web Application design, development, usability and measurement for clients in the Financial Services, Healthcare and HR Industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting market, user and technology research
  • Developing business cases
  • Leading detailed requirements gathering sessions
  • Elaboration of high-level process flows and detailed use cases
  • Documenting information architecture and UI design requirements
  • Documenting business rules
  • Developing logical data and process models (in conjunction with systems architect)
  • Mapping data between systems (in conjunction with systems architect)
  • Working with UI designers and developers to ensure their work conforms to business requirements
  • Developing and executing functional test plans
  • Working in and managing small, agile work teams

Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience as a business analyst developing enterprise class web applications
  • Experience documenting business requirements (process maps, use cases, etc.)
  • Ability to think analytically about complex problems
  • Ability to do research and reach out to subject matter experts when necessary
  • Knowledge and experience with SCRUM and other agile development methodologies
  • Working knowledge of modern application design and usability best practices
